The weather could be a distraction to the children because it could affect the children’s feelings and mood. Rain and storms could mean they are stuck inside with no way to release all their energy, so they might be hyperactive. Staying inside might also get boring if there are not lots of different activates to do especially, they younger ones who have a shorter attention span. The weather could also be exciting if its snow because they don’t see snow very often, they may want to go outside instead of doing the activities inside.
If it’s the start of a new school year there might have been older children who have left or have new children join the setting. The new environment could make the child feel very worried and confused. If the child had an older friend left, they maybe troubled and not wanting to join in with activities.
